Language permeates every issue in today's world. We all express our ideas in different languages. How does our mother tongue influence us? If our mother tongue is not English, do we keep our native language alive, or learn English to keep up with globalization and to increase our job prospects? Do you see language as being something that brings people together or something that segregates them? Tell us what you think about these issues by submitting your writing to be published in the next issue of Panorama!
Value the Land
TakingITGlobal, in partnership with Microsoft Partners in Learning and the Smithsonian Institute, is excited to announce the fifth event in the Shout online conference series: "Value the Land." Three sessions will be hosted on July 13th: "American Indian Responses to Environmental Challenges: Working for a Sustainable Future, Stories of the Forest: Human Impacts of Deforestation, and Community Narratives: Citizens Recording History. Next month's Dispatch will be focusing on Child Rights. On June 12, World Day Against Child Labour is celebrated. Children around the world are denied the basic rights that they are entitled to. In many countries, youth are forced into extreme labour condition, military service, drug and sex trafficking, depriving them of health, education, and other rights. Share your story about how you have used any component of the Tread Lightly program to educate students and you will be eligible to win a grand prize of $1,000 US, 5 finalist prizes of TIGed virtual classroom licenses or three $100 gift cards!
